The association has updated its logo, while its new website champions its ‘Every Child is Worth It’ campaign, as reported in the September issue of Images . The awards, which are in their second year, were held on 14 October and rewarded schoolwear specialists from across the industry in a variety of categories. The winners included: Total Clothing – Best Schoolwear Specialist 2018 (less than 10 fulltime staff), sponsored by David Luke Stevensons School Uniform Outfitters – Best Schoolwear Specialist 2018 (more than 10 fulltime staff), sponsored by Trutex Schoolblazer – Best Digital Schoolwear 2018, sponsored by Banner David Luke – Best Schoolwear Supplier 2018, sponsored by Marton Mills Early Years – Best Community Partner 2018, sponsored by Rowlinson Knitwear Heather Walker from Trutex – Outstanding Service to Schoolwear 2018, sponsored by William Turner www.schoolwearassociation.co.uk Total Clothing, winners of the Best Schoolwear Specialist (less than 10 full time staff), receive their award from Kathryn Shuttleworth, managing director of David Luke (far left) Shirt Lab deemed “gigantic success” The first Shirt Lab sales and marketing workshop for the decorated apparel industry held at the end of October in Columbus, Ohio, has been hailed a success by Images columnist Marshall Atkinson, who founded Shirt Lab with Tom Rauen. The seven Shirt Lab instructors, who all conducted a masterclass on different sales and marketing strategies, included Ryonet CEO Ryan Moor and Chris Bernat, CRO of Vapor Apparel. Four events are planned for 2019; dates are yet to be decided but the locations will be Atlanta, Georgia; Portland, Oregon; Baltimore Maryland; and St. Louis, Missouri. The number of exhibitors at the roadshow-style events also increased, with 19 companies at the Dublin show in October. Sean Barker, sales manager at GS UK, commented: “I have been involved with the shows for many years and it’s been great to see the visitor numbers increasing each year. The popularity of the shows has meant we have had more and more companies join us to exhibit their machinery and products.“ New companies for 2018 included Henbury, Dye Sub Supplies, Helly Hansen and Barudan, with Disley, Neutral and Caramba joining the Ireland events. Other exhibitors in 2018 included Prestige Leisure UK, BTC Activewear, Ralawise, Russell, Fruit of the Loom, Stormtech, Result, Beechfield Brands, Yoko International, Glenway Trophies, Innoprinter and Mirical Emblems, along with GS UK.
