This latest addition joins the Kornit HD6 that was installed over the summer, along with the company’s Kornit Avalanche 1000R. “The brand new HD6 machine has taken Shirt Monkey to a whole new level in terms of quality of print and hand feel,” explained company director Nic Simons. “The new Rapid ink offers huge benefits to our print workflow. After several demonstrations with some of our core clients, they have all commented on the vibrancy and softness of the prints – both key selling points with DTG printing. The new fixation also ensures that the garments are smelling fresh and ready to wear straight out of the dryer. “Furthermore, the new reduced cost per print from the HD6 is allowing us to quote competitively on print runs that were previously out of reach from a costing perspective. We are printing larger runs with orders of 500-1,000 units now being part of our daily workflow. Just this month, we accepted our largest single print run of in excess of 4,500 prints, which previously would not only have taken a lifetime to print, but would have been out of reach with regards to cost. We are now able to turn a job of this size around in a matter of days and at a competitive price. “Julian at Amaya has been our point of contact for all after sales queries and they have been second to none. The ink availability and general support from Amaya is key to maintaining our incredible relationship with Kornit.” Nic started in Shirt Monkey in 2013 with a single Brother GT-381 machine. The company now has 17 members of staff and is planning to add new machines next year. A move to larger premises of 24,000 sq ft is also planned for 2019 as the company has outgrown its 10,000 sq ft unit after just 18 months. www.shirtmonkey.co.uk Shirt Monkey now has three Kornit printers DuPont Artistri inks receive Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex certifications DuPont Advanced Printing received Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex certifications for its Artistri textile digital ink and pretreatment portfolio for both roll-to-roll and DTG textile printing applications in October. They specifically apply to pre-treatments, acid, reactive, disperse, pigment and dye sublimation inks. “We are very pleased to announce these certifications which demonstrate our commitment to the health and safety of the textile industry,” said Eric Beyeler, global marketing manager of digital printing at DuPont Advanced Printing. “The Eco Passport certificates can help give our customers an extra measure of confidence in using our products.” www.dupont.co.uk
