INDUSTRY NEWS www.images-magazine.com 12 images DECEMBER 2018 Banner acquires Early Years Schoolwear FR Monkhouse, part of the Banner Group, has acquired Early Years Schoolwear, a family-run business that is the official stockist for 68 schools in the Solihull, Birmingham and Stratford areas. Law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) and corporate finance advisers Isca Ventures advised FR Monkhouse, an independent schoolwear retailer, on the acquisition. The two firms also advised Wiltshire-based Banner on its June 2018 acquisition of FR Monkhouse. WBD partner Tom Fitzpatrick, who led the law firm’s team, added: “We’re delighted to have advised FR Monkhouse on this significant acquisition, which represents a further step in Banner’s strategy to be the market leader in school uniform retailing. Fespa’s Graeme Richardson-Locke inducted into the ASDPT The Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) inducted Graeme Richardson-Locke, technical support manager for Fespa, and Alan Howe of SAATI Americas in October at the 2018 SGIA Expo in Las Vegas. Established in 1973 by the SGIA’s board of directors, ASDPT is an international body of expert printers, suppliers and educators who have made significant contributions to the growth of the screen and digital printing industries. The academy also presented Mark Coudray of Coudray Growth Technologies the 2018 Dave Swormstedt, Sr. Memorial Award, for his article ‘Optimizing Your Flash Curing’, published in the August/September 2017 edition of ST Media’s Screen Printing magazine. www.sgia.org/sgia/academy
