PRE-PRESS & POST-PRESS EQUIPMENT www.images-magazine.com 48 images DECEMBER 2017 Dalesway Print Technology: Vastex LED Exposure Units “T he Vastex range of screen exposure units has had a significant overhaul and there is now a model to suit just about every business,” explains UK distributor, Dalesway. Its entry level LED exposure units now accept larger screen sizes of up to 58cm x 71cm, and a new range of professional level LED units offer touchscreen control panels with 10 pre-sets for vacuum and exposure. Included in the set of ‘professional’ models is a unit that can expose screens up to 132cm x 91cm, allowing a wider range of applications. “Smaller shops can still buy units with fluorescent UV tubes and upgrade to high performance LED later,” reassures Dalesway. “A range of screen drying cabinets is also available and all exposure units can be fitted on top of the drying cabinet, making very efficient use of space for clients that have small pre-press areas.” Vastex also offers a screen coating and registration system, which Dalesway says will further increase productivity in the pre-press area. “Coating screens consistently and getting multi- colour jobs registered on-press fast can dramatically improve your bottom line,” says the company. www.dalesway.co.uk Dave Roper: Washout Booth D ave Roper supplies a number of pre-press products including the new M&R Starlight ASO UV LED Screen Exposure System – this month’s Featured Product (page 49). Also from Dave Roper are washout booths. “Although a washout booth is not a complete necessity in screen printing, it sure does help keep everything a little cleaner,” says the company. “All of our washout booths are made to an excellent standard here in the UK.” The booths are made using high quality, galvanised sheet metal that is riveted and sealed, with a centre drain at the bottom that can connect to a standard sink trap. They come with a 25mm x 25mm lower grid, which is said to be great for catching residues, keeping the screens clear of them. “This is the perfect piece of equipment to prepare screens for printing and also cleaning down after,” explains Dave Roper. “When accompanied with a dip tank, drying cabinet and pressure washer, you will fly through the preparation of screens.” New updates and optional extras for Dave Roper’s washout booths will be released in 2018. www.daveroper.co.uk Exile Technologies: FreeStyler Computer- To-Screen System E xile Technologies began customer deliveries of two new versions of the FreeStyler computer-to-screen (CTS) system over the summer: the FreeStyler XL and the FreeStyler MHM. The FreeStyler XL incorporates an extended bed that is said to allow greater flexibility in screen positioning, while still supporting a Tri-Loc compatible three-point mechanical registration system. The new design accommodates screen frame heights up to 110cm high by 66cm wide. The FreeStyler MHM, which also features the new extended bed design, includes the same MHM-compatible pin registration system that is available on Exile’s flagship Spyder II CTS system. “The FreeStyler’s pin registration system is 100% compatible with the MHM pin system as well as comparable systems used on Roq presses and the pin system used on Newman Roller frames,” explains Exile. “With the FreeStyler MHM pin system, press set-up times can be virtually eliminated. The system is fully automatic and is operated via foot pedal operation, allowing for fast screen loading and unloading.” Image positioning and ‘digital’ registration is controlled by the Screenmaker RIP, which allows for pre- defined templates for different types of job and fully automatic image positioning. Both the standard FreeStyler and the new FreeStyler XL and MHM extended bed versions offer imaging sizes up to 73.5cm high by 51cm wide. FreeStyler XL and FreeStyler MHM options are both available as add-on options for existing FreeStyler customers. The standard FreeStyler system has been reduced to £8,995 to make room for the XL version, which has a MSRP of £9,995, while the MHM version with extended bed has an MSRP of £10,995. All come with the Screenmaker RIP software. www.exiletech.com Dalesway offers the Vastex range of screen exposure units The FreeStyler XL and MHM CTS systems are both now available from Exile Dave Roper offers a range of UK manufactured washout booths
