Brendan Mangan, regional manager for UK and Africa at Kornit Digital, talks about his Apple watch, practising martial arts and wanting to meet fellow Rabbitohs fan, Russell Crowe UPCLOSE AND PERSONAL What’s your hidden talent? I’ve done martial arts (Kuk Sol Won) for a while now – it’s great fun and good for fitness. What’s your greatest ambition? That’s easy, I just want my family to be happy and proud of me. What’s your guilty pleasure? The gym or running – I try to go as much as I can. Is there another job that you’ve always wanted to do? I’m in my perfect job, and have never thought about another industry. When did you start your career in the industry? I started my career in the late eighties in Australia after finishing a chemistry degree. What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you at work? My first sale at Kornit was quite special as I had just joined – thank you, Alex from Inkthreadable. Which three words would your friends use to describe your personality? Loyal, workaholic and honest. What’s your favourite word or phrase? Let’s do it! Salt and vinegar or cheese and onion? Australian salt and vinegar chips – they’re so strong, they blow your head off! Which tune can’t you get out of your head at the moment? Baby Shark – I thought it was out of my head, but my kids were singing it on the weekend and now it’s back. Brendan supports the South Sydney Rabbitohs Rugby League team Brendan Mangan Where is the best place you’ve ever visited? I have been lucky enough to travel all around the world with my work, and I think the UK in the summer is an amazing place to be with the long days and weather, I just love it. Which gadget couldn’t you live without? My Apple watch. I have a group set up with my friends, and we all compete against each other to reach our daily goals. If you could ask one person (living or dead) one question, what would you ask them? I would love to meet Russell Crowe, just to have a chat. I think he’s an amazing person, plus he owns the Rugby League team that I follow in Australia, the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
