INDUSTRY NEWS www.images-magazine.com 16 images JUNE 2020 Resolute brings its showroom to your door Resolute DTG is now offering a mobile printer demo service. Managing director Colin Marsh notes that a “hands-on experience is the only real way to see the true potential of a new piece of equipment”, and adds that because of the pandemic, showrooms could be left empty as social distancing and non- essential travel restrictions become part of normal life. “By bringing the demonstration to you, Resolute not only reduces the time it takes for a demo, but also reduces the number of people exposed to travel and cuts down on the time you and your colleagues are out of the business,” Colin explained. “Within minutes of arriving at your premises we can be printing samples, demonstrating the RIP software and curing garments for wash testing.” You can book a visit on the company’s website. There is no charge and Resolute will travel anywhere in mainland UK. imagesmag.uk/Resolute New ASBCI garment costing ebook ASBCI has released Garment Costing – everything you need to know about the cost of making clothes in the Amazon Kindle format. Nicole Spencer, operations director at RMC, saw a photo of a local group working on the campaign and realised that the volunteers were mostly home-sewers who were printing 37 sheets of A4 out, sticking them together and then cutting them out. She got in contact to offer them packs of paper pattern pieces that are ready-cut and therefore a big time-saver for the sewing volunteers. “It’s a simple thing for us to do, and we are happy to help,” Nicole said. “We’ve been fortunate enough to be given some rolls of paper from Sabre, Amari and R A Smart, which has been a great help. We’re happy to send out the patterns to other scrub sewing groups too.” imagesmag.uk/RMC RMC Limited has created packs ofpapersewing patterns forvolunteers making scrubs Some sports that naturally allow for social distancing – such as golf, tennis and fishing – were allowed to resume in May. It seemed only fitting, therefore, to celebrate by selecting an angler’s hat as our decorated product of the month. This bucket hat was created for a tackle shop called Wensum Valley Angling, explains Tony Allen, managing director of Norwich-based Dotcolour. “Daniel the owner started doing Facebook Live videos during the lockdown to keep in contact with the fishing community and wore the hat – people then started asking if they were for sale.” Tony used the 100% cotton twill Beechfield Reversible Bucket Hat (B686), as well as a waxed version, for the run of 80 that he’s done so far. The design comprised 7,200 stitches and was produced on a Tajima 1501 embroidery machine using Madeira 40 threads. www.dotcolour.co.uk www.facebook.com/wensumvalleyangling • Send your suggestion for our decorated product of the month to: editorial@images-magazine.com DECORATED PRODUCT OF THE MONTH Ooh, suits you sir...
