Described as “the first DTG printer designed to print on polyester,” Amaya reports that the Poly Pro gives a high quality, light feel to garments and passed all wash tests with major sports companies. “It provides flexibility and production, and opens up a whole new ball game to the sportswear and fashion business,” adds the company. Kornit Digital also recently launched its Atlas model, which is designed to print on cotton and cotton blends, and is said to produce garments at nearly twice the speed of previous models. New from Polyprint, Amaya also offers the Texjet Echo 2 DTG printer that is said to produce photorealistic prints using a 3pl ink drop size. The Echo 2 features a stronger platen- drive mechanism, as well as increased height between the print head and platen, which helps to prevent the print heads from picking up pile/ lint from the fabric being printed during production and so requires less frequent cleaning cycles. The printer’s sealed ink cartridges are also refillable, and it includes new RIP software called Digital Factory. All DTG products from Amaya, including inks, pre-treats and auto pre-treaters, are available online. www.amayauk.com Designed to print on polyester, the Avalanche Poly Pro is ideal for the sportswear industry Atlantic Tech Services: Azon Mirage and Matrix ranges Specially designed for industrial production and large print quantities, the European-built Azon Mirage printer offers easily exchangeable dual-platen platform technology. The 600 x 800mm format printer is designed for full-colour printing on T-shirts, sleeves, jeans, aprons, cloth panels and more, producing up to 30 dark garments and up to 100 white garments per hour, at a maximum resolution of 1,440dpi. Instead of a belt drive, the Mirage features a servo-motor and ball- screw system to ensure maximum accuracy of the forward-backward movement of the print item. It also has an improved LCD touchscreen, larger 220ml ink cartridges and new RIP technology. UK distributor Atlantic Tech Services says the Mirage adapts perfectly to both large-scale facilities and smaller printing applications, offering ”faster production, more flexibility and high efficiency”. Also available from Atlantic, the Azon Matrix DTG printer comes in both UV and direct-to-substrate models and is designed for producing full-colour prints directly onto any type of material, including leather, suede, silk, cotton, denim, Lycra and polyester. It has a choice of three bed sizes (600mm x 1,200mm, 600mm x 1,800mm, and 1,100mm x 2,500mm) and can handle materials up to 100kg in weight. It features new TurboJet DTG inks and CMYK + white configuration, as well as monitoring sensors on the bulk ink system to maintain accuracy and reduce operator involvement. All models feature a dual security mode for automatic media thickness detection and print head protection, and a zoned vacuum system to keep the material flat when printing on soft or thin materials. www.atlantic-ts.com The Azon Matrix Leather is said to offer near photographic print quality on a variety of substrates
