From 7-10 January 2020, Heimtextil will host a series of events, including an anniversary party and film, as well as a showcase of classic colours, shapes, furniture and design objects from the past 50 years. The 2020 event at Messe Frankfurt is expected to have around 3,000 exhibitors, including industry and global market leaders. The employee-owned schoolwear manufacturer closed for business on Global Climate Strike day on 20 September 2019, and hosted a Climate Crisis Day for its employees, holding presentations and interactive workshops. Rowlinson also announced that it would become carbon neutral and achieve The Planet Mark certification by the end of 2019, which requires holders to measure and reduce their annual carbon emissions associated with business operations. The company also intends to become a Certified B Corporation – balancing purpose and profit, and meeting a legal requirement to consider its environmental and social impact – by the end of 2020. As a responsible employee- owned business, it’s our duty to act immediately.” www.rowlinson-knitwear.com Rowlinson hosted a Climate Crisis Day for its employees Wilcom partners with Chinese embroidery technology company Software specialist, Wilcom has announced its partnership with Beijing Dahao Technology Corp. The joint venture, Wilcom Dahao (Beijing) Software Technology Co, will amalgamate the two companies to create an embroidery solution for the Chinese market. A company spokesperson said: “After re-entering the Chinese market in 2017, Wilcom has undertaken significant development projects, and now, in partnership with Dahao, we have begun to implement the unique features demanded in the region. For many years, thousands of embroidery companies in China have used outdated and unlicensed Wilcom software, leaving their businesses and clients at risk. It will now be possible for them to readily obtain the latest genuine Wilcom software, specifically created for the Chinese market and delivered in Mandarin, with local training and support.” www.wilcom.com
