The LittleRed X1D compact dryer has a conveyor belt measuring 46x122cm, and is the first dryer from Vastex with a heater that spans the entire belt width. It is said to be capable of curing up to 27 garments DTG-printed with white digital ink, 81 garments screen-printed with water-based or discharge ink, and 162 garments printed with plastisols per hour. Also new from the company is the LittleRed X3D-78 – an infrared conveyor dryer featuring a 2m-wide conveyor belt, which is said to be capable of curing up to 185 DTG- printed garments (with white ink) an hour, 1,080 garments screen printed with plastisol ink an hour, or 555 garments screen printed with either water-based or discharge ink an hour. "This super-wide machine is ideal for high-production shops that need to handle the maximum output of automatic presses and/or direct-to-garment printers including shops running high capacity Kornit DTG machines,” said Mark. "No other dryer of equivalent size or cost can match its performance." www.vastex.com The new LittleRed X1D conveyor dryer from Vastex Roland Barker Roland Barker, co-owner of Barker & Cameron and later Avro Embroidery, sadly passed away on 19 May 2019 after suffering a major stroke. Barker & Cameron was one of the first UK companies to use electronically driven embroidery machines (Barudans from Geoffrey Macpherson) on a commission basis. As suppliers to a wide variety of fashion, sportswear, swimwear and schoolwear companies in the 70s and 80s, the business grew quickly and was eventually sold as a going concern after building its machine capacity to 10+ multi-heads. Roland remained within the textiles industry, going on to set up Avro Embroidery and developing it into a successful corporate clothing and badge- making embroidery business, working with a wide range of blue chip companies, banks and utility suppliers. A major factor in the company’s growth was its relationship with Canterbury of New Zealand which it supplied with embroidered team kit for many years. Roland sold the business in 2001 and moved to Sutton-on-Sea, Lincolnshire to enjoy his retirement. His family would like to thank everyone within the trade who knew Roland for their kind words and condolences.
