It’s little wonder then that the adorable ‘Walter’ T-shirt from independent clothes shop Wild Heart was unanimously voted to be our ‘decorated product of the month’ from the moment we spotted it. These striking T-shirts were printed by AMD Promotions for the Bridgnorth- based shop, as AMD’s owner Julian Brown explains. “We’ve been working with Ian [Moore] from Wild Heart since 2019, when we embroidered bespoke bobble and beanie hats with the shop’s logo and fun dog sayings on them. We’ve got to know Ian and his dog Walter well over the years, and we are always keen to support and work with other local businesses in Bridgnorth. “Wild Heart was started in 1994 by Heather, Ian’s wife of nearly 30 years, who sadly died of cervical cancer in 2012. Every year, Ian tries to mark the anniversary of the shop opening with something to celebrate Heather’s life.” The inspiration for this year’s charity fundraiser came from a Wild Heart customer. “One of his customer’s children, George, aged three, drew a picture of Walter, which Ian hangs proudly in the shop — a few weeks ago, we all agreed it would make a fabulous T-shirt design and a great charity fundraiser for Cancer Research in memory of Heather.” AMD Promotions printed George’s Walter design onto Fruit of the Loom’s Original Ts using an Oki Pro8432WT white ink printer, Forever transfer papers, and a Stahls’ Hotronix Fusion heat press. “Ian wanted everyone to be able to get involved,” says Julian, “so the T-shirts are available [in sizes] for kids aged two all the way through to 4XL.” Ian’s customers love the new ‘Walt-Tee’. “The initial run has been around 100 T-shirts; however, we print on demand and the fundraising campaign has only just begun, so we expect this to grow,” reports Julian. “We’re also in the process of printing a ‘bag for life’ to tie in with Wild Heart’s anniversary shopping evening.” www.amdpromotions.co.uk www.wild-heart.co.uk DECORATED PRODUCT OF THE MONTH AMD Promotions printed the design onto Fruit of the Loom’s Original T Artist George with Ian and Walter of Wild Heart The Cotton Textile Company establishes new garment personalisation division The Cotton Textile Company has set up The Garment Company – a new division for personalising apparel. The launch of the new division is part of an expansion of The Cotton Textile Company’s warehouse and decoration facilities. The move has been accompanied by an investment in new equipment, including a modular single-head Melco embroidery machine. The company’s sales director, Richard King, explained: “Primarily, we wanted a business that has its own limited range of services that it excels in and that operates autonomously from The Cotton Textile Company, which is very much a producer of bespoke textiles. We are offering this as a service to our clients for whom we warehouse and direct dispatch.” Graham Green and Caroline Fryd will lead and increase the company’s decorating and direct dispatch facilities. In addition, Kirsty Small joined as marketing manager in June and Freddie Foster has been appointed as the company’s first apprentice. imagesmag.uk/garment-company The team at The Cotton Textile Company [L-R]: Freddie Foster, production assistant Pip Morison, Caroline Fryd, director SamWebb, Richard King, Kirsty Small and Graham Green NDK Promotions This beautiful ‘Humming Birds’ embroidery was created by NDK Promotions in Warsop for the owners of a local, family-owned chain of restaurants. imagesmag.uk/NDK-Humming-Birds
