Incorporating the latest in Ricoh textile ink technology, it prints full-colour designs and photographic quality images directly onto garments and a wide range of textile products, including 100% cotton and polycotton blends. Full-colour designs take, on average, less than 90 seconds to print, reports TheMagicTouch, which is a UK distributor of the Ricoh Ri100. “The Ri100 is perfect for users considering the addition of personalisation to their product portfolio, or those looking to increase their existing production capabilities, as the options with additional trays and curing units available make production in excess of 40 printed items per hour possible, with no pre- treatment required,” adds the company. The printer comes with easy-to-operate design software, which enables editing with no specialised skills or graphic software knowledge – “even smart phone images can be printed with ease”, notes TheMagicTouch. The Ri100’s garment tray loading system also removes any possible operator health and safety issues, making it perfectly safe for retail, outdoor event or business environments. Roland DG: Texart XT-640S-DTG The Texart XT-640S-DTG offers a multi-station, direct-to-garment printer designed for multiple applications in a production environment. The large-format system features a bed with up to 12 interchangeable jigs, as well as a unique sliding baseplate and jig design, to enable direct printing of different types and sizes of products at the same time. “From the smallest baby’s bib to a child’s T-shirt to an adult’s 3XL sweatshirt, it can print every one in a different design,” says Roland DG. The Texart XT-640S-DTG will print up to 450 T-shirts per hour in full-colour in production mode, or 225 tees per hour in quality mode. It’s designed to print on a range of garments in cotton, cotton-rich blends and white polyester fabrics, such as T-shirts, sweatshirts, childrenswear, tote bags, cushion covers and face masks. “The Texart XT-640S-DTG’s CMYK and high-density white inks have been specially developed for DTG printing, offering a natural look and feel — and importantly, they’ve passed commercial wash tests with flying colours,” notes the Roland DG. International Coatings: HDB Digital System The new HDB Digital System is designed to allow digital garment ink to be printed faster and with sharper resolution, better colour and washfastness. It offers an easy-to-use, three-component/step system comprising a HDB primer coat for either cotton or hard-to-print synthetics, an HDB Synthesis Receiver Base (part A and B) and an HDB Optimum Clear. Digital ink is printed wet-on-wet onto the HDB underbase, eliminating the need to flash. The HDB Digital System enables digital printing on light and dark garments, promising a vibrant, smooth and durable finish. Its HDB low-bleed system is designed to block bleed for digital printing on polyester, synthetic and performance fabrics.
