The company will shift to the 100% recycled polyester thread, made from post-consumer PET bottles, for use with its instant thread- colouring technology for embroidery. The thread is certified standard 100 by Oeko-Tex and provides the same fastness properties as virgin polyester thread, the company reported. It will be sold in sets of six 10km thread reels. Further minimising impact on the planet, the thread cone is made from recycled plastics and will be packaged and shipped in recycled carton boxes. imagesmag.uk/coloreel-recycled 16.1k Twitter impressions August 2021: @imagesmaguk Roq launches third-generation Now and Hybrid printers Roq has launched the “third generation” of two of its digital printers by introducing updated versions of its Roq Now and Roq Hybrid machines. Described as “game-changing”, they both come with a range of new configurations and other features that allow for increased productivity and even better quality. The Roq Now is said to be able to handle complex designs with ease, requiring only one operator to run at full speed. With a maximum production speed of around 200 pieces per hour, it is described as a versatile machine that allows users to tackle a wide array of different jobs regardless of the order size. The Roq Hybrid – billed as the “perfect fusion between screen printing and digital printing” – promises the quality usually found only in digital together with special effects normally achieved through screen printing. The new Hybrid models boast a maximum production speed of around 320 pieces per hour, and come with improved print head maintenance, new user-friendly software, and the Micropigment 2.0 Ink system, plus a bigger range of models. imagesmag.uk/roq-hybrid-now The latest versions of the Roq Now and Hybrid are now available New recycled polyester threads will be available for use with Coloreel’s thread-colouring technology
