The orange, red, green and blue Spot Color inks allow for a larger gamut of colours beyond the standard CMYK range and more accurate results. Aeoon said the inks make it easier and more accurate to achieve Pantone colours and provide improved colour brilliance and more consistent prints. It added that there is less deviation between monitor and print due to larger colour space and the new inks also offer ink savings – for example, instead of 100% yellow and 100% magenta for red, only 100% red is required. Aeoon noted that it is almost impossible to recreate the vibrancy and brightness of an RGB picture in a DTG print using only CMYK inks because the colours required are ‘out of gamut’, and that customers used to seeing screen print colours will notice that DTG prints have less intense colours. “With Spot Colors, it is no longer necessary to compensate for that loss or try to balance it out with tweaks.” imagesmag.uk/aeoon-spot-color Zünd launches web-based monitoring tool Zünd has introduced a new web-based monitoring tool that gives users access to cutter performance data at a glance. Called Zünd Connect, it compiles production data from integrated Zünd cutting systems into key performance indicators such as cutter capacity, availability and overall equipment effectiveness. It was developed to create transparency and identify areas in the digital cutting workflow with potential for improvement. Using Zünd Connect, the user can see at a glance when and why machine interruptions occur, how much time is spent in set-up, and what the availability of each machine is. imagesmag.uk/zund-connect Marshall’s new app for tracking production data The new Production Tracker app allows decorators to gather, graph and understand their daily production data. Available for download via both Google Play and the App Store, the Production Tracker has been developed by Images columnist Marshall Atkinson with technology software specialist Grid. Marshall said: “Never before has it been easier to obtain your day-to- day production data and instantly get it in a format that allows you to jump in and make production decisions and changes to maximise your efficiency.” The Production Tracker app is free for the first month, and the team at Grid will assist decorators with set-up. The basic plan is $50 (about £36) per month and is available for one admin and up to 30 daily users to track their progress and work. To learn more, visit workongrid. com/production-tracker.
