The new CTO will work alongside the rest of the leadership team including managing director Sam Jones and marketing director Simon Turner. imagesmag.uk/clothes2order-staff Think Culture Clothing This stunning T-shirt was screen printed by Think Culture Clothing for Virtue Skateboards. imagesmag.uk/TCC-Virtue-Skateboards Team members at Clothes2Order, which is recruiting 20 new staff Emma Raducanu’s stunning win at the US Open on 11 September 2021 catapulted the tennis player from relative obscurity to the bookies’ favourite for BBC Sports Personality of the Year. One person who was quick to pick up on her popularity was the graphic designer and co-founder of Boot & Ball, Jack Hurley. He created the design for the company’s Emma Raducanu T-shirt on Adobe Illustrator “almost instantly after watching her win the US Open”, twin brother and co-founder Rob reveals. “It was hard not to be inspired by that performance!” The T-shirt was released on the Monday after the final and since then has “sold very well”, says Rob, both as a T-shirt and a print. Printed by the brothers on their Epson SC-F2100 DTG printer, the T-shirt is a Gildan Ultra Cotton 200gsm style with the Boot & Ball woven label sewn in. “We use this T-shirt primarily for the quality – the 200gsm ensures a heavy cotton feel which also prints our designs perfectly in vivid colour.” The London-based print company was set up last year by twin brothers Jack and Rob Hurley and aims to create “high-quality, beautifully designed” sports products. “Both Jack and I are massive sport fans so we constantly watch sport in person and on TV,” explains Rob. “This allows us to react very quickly when we feel a new design may do well. The tricky bit is trying to capture the most iconic moments in our minimal design – something which has taken years to perfect. “We also plan ahead. For example, for the Euro 2020 football tournament we produced many new designs for football fans. Thankfully England had a great tournament, which helped sales! Lastly, we offer custom commissions where we can design anything a customer wants, from Ronaldo scoring a specific goal to a design of a family member playing cricket.” www.bootandballprints.com DECORATED PRODUCT OF THE MONTH Boot & Ball’s T-shirt celebrates Emma Raducanu’s US Open win
