Its new 23,000 sq ft factory in Thurmaston Lane in Leicester has the capacity to manufacture up to 20,000 to 25,000 garments a week, including made-to-order items and apparel customised to individual customers’ specifications. Previously, about 40% of Boohoo’s products were supplied by manufacturers and garment decorators in Leicester. In 2020, an independent inquiry into supplier working conditions found that Boohoo failed to move quickly enough after being notified of “serious issues” over the treatment of workers at some independent factories in Leicester. imagesmag.uk/boohoo-leicester Result Clothing donates blankets and fleeces in Bangladesh Result Clothing is working with its factory partners in Bangladesh to distribute blankets and fleeces to communities affected by freezing temperatures. So far, they have distributed 3,000 blankets and 5,500 fleece tops to poverty-stricken areas around one of the factories near the city of Dhaka, where the products are manufactured. Temperatures in parts of Bangladesh have dropped close to zero Celsius this winter, with about a fifth of the population living below the poverty line. Result Clothing’s managing director, David Sanders-Smith, said the company was donating the products because it wanted to give back to communities in a country where the UK-based garment supplier has been active since 2005. Result Clothing has just added a sixth factory in Bangladesh, in Mongla, which is the country’s second biggest port. imagesmag.uk/result-bangladesh Outdoor clothing brand Jack Wolfskin is now available from Ralawise View daily news updates at: www.images-magazine.com Needle in a Haystack Embroidery & Print These amazing embroidered sweatshirts were created by Needle in a Haystack Embroidery & Print in Newborough. imagesmag.uk/Haystack-Woman-Up Families in Bangladesh with their fleeces and blankets from Result Clothing The latest fashions from BoohooMan, one of The Boohoo Group’s brands
