Following the announcement of Dickies ceasing its UK operations at the end of March 2021, Adrian Burton, director of SE Workwear, said his company decided to take the “window of opportunity” and produce its own brand of trousers, in order to provide its customers with alternative products. Oxford Workwear’s five new styles of workwear trousers are all named after the hospitals of Oxfordshire, and are made from one of two new fabrics created by the company. Initially, the new products are only available from South East Workwear’s retail store, and online via the brand’s new website, but the company is hoping to be able to sell the range to other garment decorators later in the year. If you’re interested in becoming an Oxford Workwear distributor, complete an online form at imagesmag.uk/OW-distributor and the brand will send you further details. imagesmag.uk/Oxford-Workwear Alexandra partners with Elite Supported Employment to produce scrubs for NHS Wales Alexandra Workwear has partnered with charity Elite Supported Employment to supply scrubs and personal protective equipment (PPE) for NHS Wales. Elite has been manufacturing scrubs and PPE for NHS Wales for the workwear company since June 2020, and is now producing thousands of aprons, coats and tunics from the Elite Clothing Solutions base in Ebbw Vale, Blaenau Gwent. The partnership has given opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people to get into work, and Elite’s existing staff were also able to remain at work rather than be furloughed. imagesmag.uk/Alexandra-ELITE Workers at the Elite Clothing Solutions’ base are producing aprons, coats and tunics The Radcliffe Trousers from Oxford Workwear will also be available in a shorts style New Conveyor Air Bar from Vastex Vastex International has introduced a new cooling device for conveyor dryers. The Conveyor Air Bar is designed to speed up the cooling of screen printed and inkjet-printed garments, as well as caps, insulated beverage holders, umbrellas and hard goods, on exiting a conveyor dryer’s heating chamber. Adjustable in both height and width, the Conveyor Air Bar contains tightly spaced mini fans that provide airflow across the printed item, and is angled outwards to avoid blowing cool air into the heating chamber. “The new Conveyor Air Bar is a simple way to increase productivity of any shop by rapidly cooling and hardening hot ink that is soft or tacky, making printed garments and hard goods easy to fold or package,” explained Mark Vasilantone, president of Vastex. The Conveyor Air Bar comes in two models: CAB-30, which has five fans, and CAB-54, which has nine fans. imagesmag.uk/Conveyor-Air-Bar The Conveyor Air Bar contains tightly spaced mini fans to cool printed items PCIAW launches match-making initiative for sustainable clothing procurement PCIAW’s Uniform Buyers Network has introduced a new match-making service for buyers and suppliers within the workwear, corporatewear, PPE and accessories sectors. “The Uniform Buyers Network identified many sustainability challenges faced by key players within this rapidly evolving global business sector and has generated solutions to enable buyers and suppliers to work together collaboratively to utilise the latest advances in garment science and technology,” said PCIAW. imagesmag.uk/PCIAW-match- making View our latest videos: vimeo.com/imagesmaguk
