www.images-magazine.com JULY 2021 images 55 PF SUBLIMATION PRINTING Epson: SureColour SC-F100 Epson says the SureColour SC-F100 printer is ideal for small businesses and start-ups looking to expand their product offering into the promotional goods sector. “The dye sublimation printer has the footprint of an A4 desktop system, and is perfect for producing promotional and personalised goods, from mugs and key fobs to phone covers and other small merchandise items. “It also meets the needs of textile producers who want to create bespoke products such as caps, aprons, lanyards and small cushions.” The SC-F100 promises fast turnaround times, a low total cost of ownership and requires no specialist knowledge to set up, operate or maintain, reports Epson. “Users don’t have to be experts to operate the printer — jobs can be sent via wifi using our dedicated driver.” Key features of the SC-F100 include PrecisionCore MicroTFP print heads, plus 140ml refillable ink bottles, which are designed to provide a lower cost alternative to cartridge-based inks. It also has a 2.4” colour LCD screen for easy operation, with wifi, as well as Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet and USB 2.0 connectivity for simple job set-ups. The SC-F100 comes with an Epson warranty, and forms part of the company’s complete end-to-end printing solution, which includes inks, driver and paper, all designed to work together. The SC-F100 comes with 140ml refillable ink bottles as a lower cost alternative to cartridge-based inks TheMagicTouch: UHD Coated Aluminium Sheets New to its DyeSubMagic sublimation range, the UHD Coated Aluminium Sheets have a unique ‘ultra high- definition’ coated surface that offers UV- resistance and anti-graffiti properties, explains TheMagicTouch (TMT). “The market for full-colour signage, interior decoration and personalised photo gifts is growing — these UHD aluminium sheets are strong, durable, flexible and lightweight, and can be printed easily in full colour with sublimation ink transfers, using a suitable professional transfer heat press to apply.” The UHD sheets are also heat- and humidity-resistant to EN-13501, weathering to ISO 4892-3, solvent- and salt acids-resistant, and are designed to be formed and bent with no surface cracking. Available in various sizes up to 2.4m, the printable sheets are 1mm thick and promise HD image quality together with outdoor-, scratch- and chemical- resistance. “The unique double coating process enables the panels to be trimmed and shaped, easily avoiding any flaking or sharp edges,” adds TMT.
