This month we have Paco from VinoSangre in Norwich Full name: Paco/Paco Bell/PB/ Beale Breed: Chihuahua x Jack Russell Age: 12 and a half Time at company: Four months Job title: Voluntary lunch monitor/ social media director Job description: It’s Paco’s job to boost staff morale and to make sure they take plenty of breaks. As the resident social media expert, her role is to help disrupt the Instagram algorithm by sneaking candid photos of herself into the VinoSangre feed. Paco is also a passionate advocate of reducing food waste in the workplace. Or in any place... Special skills: Making all ‘I don’t like small dogs’ people fall in love with her; sitting upright on her haunches like a meerkat; and persistently getting in your blind spot so you trip over her and are forced to grovel for forgiveness. Favourite colour: 13-0941-TCX Banana Cream because it reminds her of her favourite snacks – bananas and coconut milk yogurt. www.vinosangre.co.uk Responsible Sourcing Network steps up action on supply chains The Responsible Sourcing Network (RSN) is “enhancing” its activities after becoming a standalone organisation fighting to improve labour rights in the global supply chain for apparel and other products. Originally the human rights programme within As You Sow, a non-profit foundation promoting corporate social responsibility, it is now an independent non-profit corporation. RSN has embarked on enhancing its activities championing human rights and fighting slavery among vulnerable communities in the harvesting of raw materials such as cotton. It builds multi-stakeholder networks, including a coalition of more than 330 global apparel brands – from schoolwear supplier One+All to Fruit of the Loom and H&M – which have signed up to its slavery-free cotton pledge. This has enabled RSN to negotiate with the Uzbek government for the rights of forced labourers in cotton fields. imagesmag.uk/rsn-enhance Follow us on Twitter @imagesmaguk Vastex launches lower-energy Lo-E dryer Vastex International has introduced the Lo-E Dryer for garment printers who want to cut energy costs and carbon emissions. The new dryer promises to cure pretreatment, DTG inks, water-based screen printed inks and discharge at high rates using 20% less energy than comparable dryers. Mark Vasilantone, who is president of Vastex International, said: “We engineered the Lo-E for printers who have limited amperage, and those who simply want to cut energy costs and carbon emissions. “Although the Lo-E Dryer is designed for curing of DTG garments, it can also cure screen printed water-based inks and discharge. It’s the most energy- efficient dryer in our line-up – and maybe the world.” The Lo-E’s modularity allows users to add one or multiple heating chambers and extend the conveyor belt, multiplying capacity in direct proportion to each additional heating chamber. imagesmag.uk/vastex-loe RSN champions human rights for communities harvesting materials such as cotton The new Lo-E Dryer from Vastex International
