For three decades, then, we’ve been reporting on and promoting the business of garment decoration, while celebrating the many amazing, creative and entrepreneurial people who make this such a vibrant and dynamic industry. On an anniversary such as this, we could be expected to talk about how marvellous we are and to list our successes and achievements and promote what a great job we do! However, I feel that it’s really you, our valued readers, who should be the judge Thank you! 1992-2022 of that. So rather than me banging on about the magazine we decided to ask you for your thoughts and to tell us what Images means to you instead. To say that the team was overwhelmed by the response is an understatement – we were blown away by your feedback. So, to celebrate our 30th anniversary year we’ll be sharing a selection of that feedback in each issue over the coming months. You’ll see what your peers have to say in ‘anniversary banners’ dotted throughout each issue, beginning below. I can only say how profoundly grateful we are for the many kind and supportive words we have received, which suggest that we must be doing something right! To mark this issue, we asked Graham Ridley of Retro Activewear – indisputably one of the industry’s ‘characters’ and a vocal supporter of Images since day one – to share his thoughts on life as a garment decorator over the past three decades (30 years in 5 minutes, page 25). And we’ve also indulged in a brief wander down memory lane with a look at that first issue (‘Back to the beginning’ , page 24).
