Available from January 2021, the new range joins the list of ‘OK biodegradable Water’ certified products offered by the British eco- glitter manufacturer. The coating in the Bioglitter Sparkle GC products removes the acrylate plastic applied to the film, enabling them to achieve the fresh water biodegradable certification from TÜV Austria. imagesmag.uk/Bioglitter-Sparkle-GC The new Bioglitter Sparkle GC product range will be available from January 2021 Research reveals 91% of people are more likely to make an online purchase if offered free delivery A UK print and packaging company has surveyed consumers’ online delivery experience, finding that 91% of people are more likely to make a purchase if the delivery is free. In its research, Where The Trade Buys analysed various factors of the delivery experience from the price to the courier service being used. While its research suggested that the incentive of free delivery incites people to shop online rather than on the high street, 65% of people surveyed said they would still pay more for next- day delivery. However, almost 70% of respondents said that simply paying extra for delivery puts them off from buying online. Almost two-thirds of respondents to the survey (65%) also said that they take notice of which courier service is showing up at their door, and 80% said they were less likely to buy from the same seller if the courier service they received was poor. imagesmag.uk/WTTB-Online- Delivery Real Living Wage increases to £9.50 in UK and £10.85 in London The new Living Wage rates increased to £9.50 across the UK (20p increase), and £10.85 in London (10p increase) on 9 November 2020. The real Living Wage is an hourly rate of pay set independently and updated annually according to the basic cost of living in the UK – this is different to the compulsory National Living Wage, which is currently £8.72 an hour for anyone over the age of 25. Schoolwear manufacturer Rowlinson Knitwear, which is a Living Wage employer, has called for more employers to “do the right thing” and pay the Living Wage. Donald Moore, chair of Rowlinson Knitwear, commented: “The pandemic is having an unparalleled impact on people’s lives, particularly those in traditionally lower paid jobs. “Organisations in the position to do so must play their part by becoming accredited Living Wage employers, so people can meet their everyday needs. It’s only fair to pay a wage that reflects the true cost of living, particularly during a year of unparalleled financial upheaval.” Arron Harnden, managing director of Shirtworks, is also a Living Wage employer and said the scheme creates a more positive and accountable workforce.
