Suitable for decoration, the Bumpaa antiviral gloves are treated with ViralOff technology, which is proven to reduce tested viruses (including the SARS- CoV-2 virus that causes Covid-19) by over 99% on the material in just two hours, explained the garment decoration company. “Designed to protect the textiles from harbouring viruses or bacteria, ViralOff doesn’t interfere with the skin’s natural bacterial flora and lasts for the product’s lifetime. When the gloves are removed, if any virus or bacteria is present on the surface, 99% will be safely deactivated within a maximum of two hours.” The gloves can be decorated with either transfer print or embroidery on the rear of each glove, and can be purchased directly from Screenworks. From January 2021, Rolf’s nephew Kai Gminder will take over control of the family-run corporatewear and fashion manufacturer. Rolf took over Gustav Daiber from his father, Walter Daiber, in 1974. As managing director, he took the company from a trader of textile accessories to textile decoration, establishing an embroidery department. Today, Gustav Daiber primarily manufactures its own corporate fashion brand, James & Nicholson, as well as the caps and accessories brand Myrtle Beach, both of which are distributed in the UK by Fusible Systems. Kai has previously worked as a sales manager at Gustav Daiber, and has been supporting Rolf as managing director of the marketing, sales and purchasing department since 2012. In his new role, Kai intends to continue Gustav Daiber’s work in textile manufacturing and decoration with its partners in Germany, Europe and Asia. imagesmag.uk/Rolf-Daiber [L-R] Rolf Daiber and Kai Gminder CHANGING FACES Bella+Canvas tee painted by Damien Hurst on Ebay for £250,000 A Bella+Canvas T-shirt featuring abstract artwork from British artist Damien Hurst was up for auction on Ebay with a ‘buy it now price’ of £250,000 at the time of going to press. In early 2020, Damien launched an Instagram contest to give away T-shirts he personally owned and painted in. One of the signed tees is now being auctioned on Ebay.
