We have everything anyone could ever need to physically help promote, market and create the right image for a company, organisation, promotion or campaign. As manufacturers with state-of-the-art, in-house facilities and a highly creative design, branding and marketing team, we can create solution-led approaches for even the most complex corporate schemes involving fulfilment, multi-territory logistics, warehousing and tracking. What DTG printers have you bought? We purchased two Brother GTXpro Bulk machines in 2020; they are the first DTG machines we’ve had installed at Wild Thang. Why did you choose your current system? We decided to purchase the Brother GTXpro Bulk machines because they offered the best overall package for the company in terms of the machine cost, lower ink costs, increased production speeds, and higher print quality than other machines we had looked at. Is there anything you’d like to see in an upgrade or don’t particularly like about them? It’s early days and we are very pleased with the Brother GTXpro Bulk machines, they have lived up to our high expectations so far. It is possible to network the machines, but I may like to see the ability to network multiple machines made quicker and easier. What are they like to use? Do you have any tips on how to get the most out of them? We have been impressed by the machines overall, and although we are in full production daily, we are still in the learning phase. I would say the more testing you can do the better, as it will allow you to refine the machine settings for different materials. What sort of work are they used for? We find we are mainly running T-shirts and hoodies; this can vary from one- off web orders to possibly up to 200. We are in a great and enviable position to be able to choose the best method of print based upon the design, the quantity and the design coverage. We know where DTG fits perfectly and we know where screen print fits perfectly as we have everything under one roof, we have the flexibility to choose, and we find they complement one another perfectly. What other machines do you have and do you use any of them in combination with your DTG machines? Alongside DTG, we are running a plethora of other machinery, including automatic and manual screen printing, through to several conveyor drying lines. We also have large-scale heat pressing capabilities and digital wide format printing, along with digital paper printing and large-scale multi- head embroidery machinery. What would be your advice to others thinking of buying a DTG printer? Try to test the machines as much as possible; it’s important to get a real world experience of any machine you are thinking of purchasing. www.wildthang.co.uk Chris Dwerryhouse with the two Brother GTXpro Bulk printers bought last year by Wild Thang
