While the GTXpro is designed to produce low to medium quantities, the GTXpro Bulk is intended for mass production from 3,000 prints per month. Both models feature new industrial print heads specially developed by Brother for direct textile printing, and use its specially developed water-based inks that are Oeko-Tex Passport and Gots 5.0-certified. In addition, both the GTXpro and GTXpro Bulk can now print on dark polyester or leather. Both models come with new pressure level sensors, and are extremely user-friendly, offering simplified operation and an even further optimised/automated maintenance process, adds MHM. Due to their relatively compact sizes, the Brother GTXpro and GTXpro Bulk printers can be used in smaller rooms, if required, and installation and training by an authorised Brother DTG technician is also provided. Roland DG: Texart XT-640S- DTG The Roland Texart XT-640S-DTG printer has the ability to print durable, full-colour designs, plus high-density white ink, directly onto a wide range of cotton, cotton- rich and white polyester textiles for both fashion and home décor applications. The printer’s “unique sliding baseplate and jig design” allows different sizes of garments to be combined for maximum versatility, printing up to 12 garments at once. According to Roland DG, when printing CMYK, the XT-640S-DTG can produce up to 450 garments per hour using a 200 x 260mm jig production mode, or 225 garments per hour in quality mode. The XT-640S-DTG’s inks and primers are Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex-certified and the printer can be used with Ergosoft Roland DG Edition 3 RIP software, which is included with the printer, to “unlock time and money-saving functions like background colour removal for ink reduction”. Global Print Solutions: Direct-To-Film Printing Full-colour transfers have cemented their place in the personalisation and embellishment markets, says Global Print Solutions, with the direct-to-film (DTF) process now enabling businesses to produce vibrant, high-quality transfers in-house. Perfect for short-run production, the user-friendly DTF transfers can be pressed onto garments in the same way that traditional transfers are, and no cutting or weeding is required, says the company. Using the DTF process, full-colour artwork designs made using standard graphic software are first printed digitally onto rolls of transfer film. After printing the images, an in-line system then backs them with white ink for opacity, before the roll of printed images progresses through to the powdering unit to have an adhesive powder applied. When the excess powder is removed, the images then move to an in-line dryer for curing, before the finished transfers emerge on the film and are wound up ready to press.
