The process involves printing the required design with a ‘composite‘ black onto the T.Foil Dark transfer paper using an Oki enhanced CMYK or CMY plus white-toner based laser printer powered with the ‘SpaceControl‘ print driver. The printed transfer is applied to the garment using a traditional heat press. Then, from a choice of over 18 foil colours, the design is covered and heat pressed again, resulting in a durable decoration which involves no cutting or weeding. “The finished transfer has a final press to ensure outstanding feel, look and durability,“ explains TMT. “The bottom line is, the user is able to produce transfers (transfer and foil) for less than £1 up to A4 and £2 for A3, quickly and profitably.“ It continues: “TheMagicTouch image transfer processes offer the ability to produce full-colour imaging onto a vast range of garments and textiles regardless of colour for workwear, sportswear, promotional and fashion markets. This, combined with the vast range of marketable promotional and B2B gift products makes TheMagicTouch a ‘no risk‘ solution and even more attractive as an investment.“ The company says it continues in 2019 to work closely with major clothing brands in “perfecting solutions“ for full-colour decoration of new and popular garments that include a multitude of different fabric compositions including cotton, polyester, softshell, denim, canvas and even leather. www.themagictouch.co.uk According to Screen Print World, M&R‘s M-Link and M-Link X digital textile printers “offer exceptional value“. It adds: “With colour profiles designed specifically for Artistri Brite inks, the I-Colour RIP quickly converts digital art files into printed images with maximum sharpness, superior shading and tonal gradations.“ The M-Link X is said to print white T-shirts in 30-45 seconds and blacks in less than a minute, while the M-Link prints whites in 45-60 seconds and blacks in under three minutes. Screen Print World says M&R has “solved the issue of ink waste and white ink separation and settling by circulating white ink within the main ink reservoir and throughout the main white ink lines every 30 minutes when the printer is idle“. Also from Screen Print World is the M&R DS-4000 Digital Squeegee, a hybrid printer that is said to be capable of 400+ prints per hour. “Since the Digital Squeegee prints on top of a screen printed underbase, a wide array of fabrics – including synthetic and performance blends – can now be printed digitally, opening the door to new market trends and cost- effective high- end digital textile imaging,“ says the company. It continues: “An 8- to 12-colour screen print would typically require hours to perform separations, process and expose screens, mix inks and register the press. The same screen print can be set up and printed on the Digital Squeegee in a fraction of the time with a minimal number of screens, greatly reducing art times that are normally associated with multi-colour screen print jobs.“ The system also allows for the printing of varying digital print data in the same print run. www.screenprintworld.co.uk PF DIGITAL PRINTING Screen Print World: M&R‘s M-Link and Digital Squeegee The M&R M-Link direct-to- garment printer is available from Screen Print World TheMagicTouch: T.Foil Dark Transfer Paper T.Foil Dark transfer paper is available now from TheMagicTouch
