The two paper transfer system can be used with most CMYK and Oki white toner printers. “Both the A4 and A3 size paper are suitable for fine detail transfers onto almost any fabric or hard surface – no cutting or weeding required,“ says PenCarrie. “Only the toner in the design will transfer so no background areas are visible.“ Decorated garments can be washed up to 40 o C and ironed inside out. The papers are available in packs of 25, 50 and 100 sheets. www.pencarrie.com ForeverA4 Laser Dark Paper is new to PenCarrie for 2019 PenCarrie: Amaya Forever Laser Dark Paper DTG Digital: G4 DTG Ink Following the launch of its G4 DTG printer, DTG Digital released new G4 DTG ink sets in March. “We’re even more impressed with the results of this new G4 DTG Ink set than we thought we’d be,” says Roderick Verweij, DTG Digital‘s European operations manager. “Our engineers and chemists have worked hand in hand to produce inks and pre-treats carefully formulated for the G4’s ink delivery system, and the research has paid off in amazing-looking prints that last.“ The CMYK and white, delivered via cartridge for consistency, are tuned specifically to work with the G4 printer and are coupled with new pre-treats to offer “softer hand feel, greater washability and easier application“, says the company. The ink has a higher viscosity with less surface tension than previous DTG-branded inks, and promises “high quality prints with an industry first in colour gamut“. Jerry Erich, product manager for DTG Digital, comments: “There’s no air in the ink delivery to the print head nozzle plates, enabling more reliable and predictable printing results without the maintenance levels currently seen i n the market. And we adapted the WIMS system for white ink management for the G4 DTG printer, which greatly contributes to preventing settling. It’s just great engineering and a great ink set to match.“ Acco rding to DTG Digital, the main features of the new ink set are “less white ink settling; higher viscosity for continued ink delivery to the nozzle plate; no dye migration in heat setting; lower cure times; less machine maintenance needed; better, consistent colours batch to batch; latex-derivative formulation; superior wash-fastness; superior dry and wet rub; and an unbelievable soft hand feel“. www.g4dtg.com DTG Digital has introduced a new ink set to use with the G4 DTG printer GS UK: Brother GTX and Cadlink Software The Brother GTX has been generating a lot of interest when demonstrated in combination with a camera and the Digital Factory Cadlink Software V10, reports GS UK. “Adding a camera and using the Cadlink software allows a very accurate positioning of prints to a garment,” the company explains. “This is ideal for smaller items that require a very high accuracy tolerance. As the software allows a print to be applied with pinpoint accuracy it is an ideal system for adding further decoration to a garment or item that may already have an existing embellishment such as an embroidery, etc.” The Brother GTX DTG printer is capable of 1,200 x 1,200dpi in a single pass, which GS UK says moves it “increasingly closer to the larger and more expensive units available in the marketplace”. The system includes a white ink circulation system that keeps the white ink in suspension, while the wet capping station helps to stop the ink from drying on the bottom of the nozzle plate, which the company says results in reduced maintenance costs and downtime. Another advantage of the Brother GTX is the Innobella ink set, which offers a “wider colour gamut, providing more vibrancy and depth to colours”. GS UK says it supplies many UK- based garment printers and that most of their customers at some point in their evaluation process require a direct ‘like-for-like’ print quality test. “The sharper, vibrant Brother print moves the GTX to the top of their list nine times out of 10,” reports GS UK. “When considering production run speeds – pre-treatment times, drying times etc – the Brother is comparable, even with larger machines that pre-treat and print in one process. When taking into account the initial cost of the equipment, the returns on a Brother GTX can be far quicker.” www.gs-uk.com Cadlink software and a camera recognition system result in accurate print positioning
