Yasir and Qaisar Choudry have been banned as directors of limited companies for three years. Stephen Carr of Keighley, who supplied counterfeit, branded heat transfers to the family, was sentenced to eight-months imprisonment suspended for 18 months and must complete 180 hours of unpaid work. The case was brought by West Yorkshire Trading Standards (WYTS) following a tip off by private investigators Surelock International which represents brands in the music industry. A two-year investigation was held into the screen printing operation at YMC Clothing Ltd in Bradford where the registered trademarks of music artists, bands and sports teams that included Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana and Harry Potter were illegally printed onto clothing and distributed globally via Ebay and Amazon, reported WYTS. Peak UK wins Roland Hero 2018 award Kayak clothing manufacturer Peak UK has been selected as the winner of the inaugural Roland Hero Awards. The judging panel, which included Roland DG EMEA‘s head of marketing Gillian Montanaro, best-selling author and award-winning entrepreneur Beth Kempton and the president of Fespa, Christian Duyckaert, decided in January that Peak UK‘s owner Pete Astles best encompassed what it means to be a Roland user. “His story of building up a kayaking apparel company, using Roland Texart dye-sublimation systems to produce unique designs for Olympic teams, was truly inspiring,“ noted Roland DG. Jerry Davies, managing director of Roland DG UK, and Gillian visited Peak UK‘s facilities in the Peak District to present Pete with the official winner‘s trophy along with a certificate and details on Pete‘s main prize: a trip of a lifetime to Iceland, Florida or Thailand. Pete said: “It‘s a real reward for our team here. Everybody‘s been involved in the design process, the selling, the shipping, the manufacturing, so it‘s a really great team effort. Everyone should be proud. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Roland and the judges!“ www.peakuk.com www.rolanddg.co.uk The Peak UK team celebrate winning the inaugural Roland Hero Awards
